Natarja is the Lord Shiva in dancing form. In Nepal and India this form of Shiva is worshiped as the god of Dance, one who is practicing in the art of dancing is seen worshiping him. This dance of Shiva is performed by the lord Shiva to destroy fatigue or boredom of the universe and encourage the god Brahma to start his work of creation.

There are two forms of Nataraj:
1st Lasya -the Gentle form of Dance
Which is related with the creation of the world

2nd The most popular Tandab - More wrathful form of shiva
Here Shiva is depicted in this full wrath with his dread locked hair all open, with a fiery background. This poster depict the destructive nature of the Lord Shiva. This form is associated with destruction of the Weary (fatigue/boring) worldviews.

Centuries-Old Lost-Wax Metal Casting

Each sculpture at Handmade Handicraft is crafted using the ancient cire-perdue (lost-wax) technique, a craft perfected over a millennium by the Newar artisans of Patan. The process begins with sculpting beeswax and Himalayan tree resin by hand. A multi-layered clay mold is formed around the wax, which is melted away in the furnace, creating a void that is filled with molten red copper or bronze.

24K Mercury Gilding

Applied with pure gold leaf and fused using fire gilding for an ethereal sheen that endures for generations.

Cold-Gold Face Painting

The sacred facial features and serene gaze of deities are carefully rendered with powdered cold gold and natural pigments.

Hand-Chiseled Detailing

Intricate robes, mandalas, and jewels are carved by hand with miniature steel chisels and devotion.
