Fridge Magnets

A fridge magnet is a small decorative item that is designed to be attached to the front of a refrigerator using a magnet. It can be made from a range of materials such as plastic, metal, or resin and can feature a variety of designs and themes.
A fridge magnet with a Kathmandu Valley theme may feature iconic landmarks or scenery from the Kathmandu Valley region, such as the Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, or Durbar Square. The design may also incorporate elements of traditional Nepali art or architecture.

A fridge magnet featuring mountain ranges could showcase the stunning beauty of the Himalayan mountain range, which includes some of the world's highest peaks such as Mount Everest, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri. The design could incorporate a range of colors and textures to evoke the rugged and majestic nature of these mountains.

Buddhism is a prominent religion in Nepal, and a fridge magnet with a Buddhist theme could feature symbols or imagery related to Buddhist philosophy or practice. This could include the Buddha himself, as well as symbols such as the lotus flower, the Eightfold Path, or the Wheel of Dharma.

Overall, a fridge magnet with a Kathmandu Valley or Himalayan theme is a great way to bring a touch of Nepali culture and natural beauty into your home. A fridge magnet with a Buddhist theme can also serve as a daily reminder of the importance of mindfulness, compassion, and other core Buddhist values.

Centuries-Old Lost-Wax Metal Casting

Each sculpture at Handmade Handicraft is crafted using the ancient cire-perdue (lost-wax) technique, a craft perfected over a millennium by the Newar artisans of Patan. The process begins with sculpting beeswax and Himalayan tree resin by hand. A multi-layered clay mold is formed around the wax, which is melted away in the furnace, creating a void that is filled with molten red copper or bronze.

24K Mercury Gilding

Applied with pure gold leaf and fused using fire gilding for an ethereal sheen that endures for generations.

Cold-Gold Face Painting

The sacred facial features and serene gaze of deities are carefully rendered with powdered cold gold and natural pigments.

Hand-Chiseled Detailing

Intricate robes, mandalas, and jewels are carved by hand with miniature steel chisels and devotion.
