Lokta Paper Lampshade

Nepali Lokta paper lamp shades are a beautiful and unique way to add a touch of Nepali craftsmanship to your home decor. Lokta paper is a handmade paper that is produced in Nepal using the bark of the Lokta plant. The paper has a unique texture and a natural feel, and it is known for its durability and strength.
Nepali Lokta paper lamp shades are often made by hand and can be customized with traditional Nepali designs and motifs. The paper is folded and cut into intricate shapes, creating a beautiful interplay of light and shadow when the lamp is turned on.

One of the benefits of using Lokta paper for lamp shades is that it is an eco-friendly and sustainable material. The Lokta plant is fast-growing and regenerates quickly, making it a renewable resource. The paper is also produced using traditional methods that do not rely on harmful chemicals or bleaches.

In addition to being sustainable, Nepali Lokta paper lamp shades are also a beautiful and unique way to add a touch of warmth and elegance to your home decor. The natural texture and colors of the paper add a touch of rustic charm, and the traditional designs and motifs are a nod to the rich cultural heritage of Nepal.

Overall, Nepali Lokta paper lamp shades are a great choice for anyone looking for an eco-friendly and unique way to light up their living space. They are a sustainable and beautiful way to showcase traditional Nepali craftsmanship while adding a touch of warmth and elegance to your home decor.

Centuries-Old Lost-Wax Metal Casting

Each sculpture at Handmade Handicraft is crafted using the ancient cire-perdue (lost-wax) technique, a craft perfected over a millennium by the Newar artisans of Patan. The process begins with sculpting beeswax and Himalayan tree resin by hand. A multi-layered clay mold is formed around the wax, which is melted away in the furnace, creating a void that is filled with molten red copper or bronze.

24K Mercury Gilding

Applied with pure gold leaf and fused using fire gilding for an ethereal sheen that endures for generations.

Cold-Gold Face Painting

The sacred facial features and serene gaze of deities are carefully rendered with powdered cold gold and natural pigments.

Hand-Chiseled Detailing

Intricate robes, mandalas, and jewels are carved by hand with miniature steel chisels and devotion.
