PRAYER BEADS

Prayer beads, also known as malas, are a string of beads used in prayer and meditation practices in many spiritual traditions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, and Christianity. They come in various forms, including necklaces, bracelets, and bead strings with 108 beads. The number 108 is considered auspicious in many spiritual traditions and is said to represent the 108 earthly desires that must be overcome to reach enlightenment. Some prayer beads are made from natural materials like seeds, wood, or crystals, while others are made from a mix of materials such as beads and bracelets or necklaces. They can be used to count the repetition of prayers or mantras, or simply as a tool to help focus the mind during meditation
